Description

This unit introduces the professional responsibilities of engineers including: continuing professional development, codes of conduct, industry standards and ethics to appreciate the social, environmental, economic and commercial considerations affecting the exercise of engineering judgement. Quality management, environmental management, health and safety practices and security risks will also be reviewed. Emphasis will be given to sustainable engineering practices in which measures and procedures aimed at reducing environmental impact and increasing operational efficiency are explored.
